आपको हमारी कसम लौट आईये.. (Aapko hamari kasam laut aayiye)
P.S.- When Pathan crossed 1000 Cr. Worldwide, I had written a blog, so
for Jawan, ‘Ek blog to banata hai’ 😊
'Ek Raja tha, ek ke baad ek jung haarta gaya, bhuka-pyaasa, bahut gusse me tha..'
The description suits SRK who
has delivered back-to-back blockbusters in a single year and may give another
blockbuster with Dunki. After Pathan, now Jawan is on the verge of crossing
1000 Crore Worldwide collections. Whosoever has watched Jawan in theatres, has
something to say, be it good or bad. You love it or hate it but you cannot
ignore it.
I have watched Jawan with
family and surprisingly my teenage son and little daughter also liked it. You can call me a fan of SRK, but the fact is that I am a fan of Aamir’s acting.
I liked SRK in Baazigar and he won my heart with DDLJ. That was
the era of romance and SRK established himself as the King of Romance with back-to-back romantic superhits like DTPH and KKHH. When eloping from home was cool, he
convinced the couples with a pathbreaking thought of getting married with the
blessings of elders (in DDLJ).
‘Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai, pyaar bhi ek baar hota hai aur shaadi bhi, bas ek baar!’
Our generation believed his words although the Gen Z or Zoomer’s
believing in ‘Pyaar hota hota hota kai bar hai’ may find it bizzare.
Surprisingly the same Zoomers are gaga over his pathbreaking
monologue against the establishment and the issues addressed in the film Jawan. And mind
it that this is happening in the ‘Amrit Kaal’ when it’s politically correct to
praise the government for whatever they have done.
Twenty-five years back this was the norm when films like 'Hindustani', 'Rang De Basanti', or 'Aparichit' used to criticize government
policies over social issues. During those days, as a college student, I used to
write articles under the name of ‘The Shahrukh’ or ‘Shahrukh Nagpurian’ apart from my usual column and it was considered COOL.
Our generation believed SRK as the spoilt son for whom Anupam Kher
(who has become the main protagonist in the propaganda films now) says ‘Mera
Beta mera Guroor hai’. But now the new generation is also believing him when he
says, ‘Bete ko haath lagaane se pehle, baap se baat kar.’ Truly, the cycle is
complete and with Jawan’s popularity, the audience is responding to SRK’s appeal
of returning to the big screens…
Aapko hamari kasam laut aayiye 😌
