Why should boys have all the fun!
Location: GoodLuck Café, Pune
Thanks a ton for your help, Ajju and Raj. Now, This report
can be termed as complete.’ Sanjay thanked while taking a bite of the perfect Bun
Maska.
‘No need for thanks and all, Guruji. In fact, it was our privilege
to collaborate with you on this Project.’ Rajesh replied.
‘Now, you are pulling my leg by calling me Guruji. I am just
a year senior to you’ Sanjay clarified.
‘But senior is senior, be it a year or 10 years. Also, you
have a Doctorate, Sanju bhai, so for me and Raj, you are Guruji.’ Ajay joined in.
‘No, I mean seriously, IT folks like you come with an advanced
mindset. You guys actually added a lot of perspective to this project report.
Cheers!’ Sanjay lifted the cup of coffee in his hand.
‘Thanks. With Perspective, I recollected that our
perspective about Police also changed today in that Kondhwa R*pe case.’ Ajay
expressed.
‘Actually, yes! Last week, we were blaming the Police force for
the rise in such incidents in Pune, and today we are applauding them for their
swift investigation.’ Sanjay added.
‘But I am appalled by the girl’s behaviour and actions.
How can she do this, I mean crying r*pe when that guy was her boyfriend.’
Rajesh expressed his concern.
‘You see, with the OTT content consumed by the new generation,
they use their intelligence for all the wrong reasons without bothering about the
consequences. And the most worrisome thing is that girls are leaving boys
behind in this game now.’ Sanjay shared.
‘Very true, and 'why should boys have all the fun', every
time!’ Rajesh chuckled.
‘Right! Even girls can do what used to be a male-dominated area, such as trapping innocent persons for money, Planning Murder and so on…’ Ajay
added.
‘Looks like they have the guts to murder the husband for a boyfriend, but do not have the spine to oppose parents for the arranged marriage. Remember
Sonam Bewafa!’
‘No one can match you in blending the recent events with an old
movie, Raj, ’ Sanjay commented.
‘Is it praise or…?’ Rajesh asked.
‘Hahaha. No one can match Sanju bhai in sarcasm.’ Ajay quipped.
‘Jokes apart, but this is a pretty complex issue, guys. I
mean, although Women's Safety is a paramount concern, there are a lot of cases where men are the victims, remember that Atul Subhash’s
suicide case.’ Sanjay reminded.
‘Yeah. Maybe, that’s because the laws are on the women’s side.’
Rajesh opined.
‘True. DV, that is Domestic Violence, is such a brutal weapon.’
Ajay added.
‘And when it comes to Corporate or Work-related cases, there
is POSH.’ Rajesh expressed.
‘My wife is in HR, and in her company, there was a POSH case
where the girl filed a complaint against her male colleague because he wittily commented
that he would have married the girl immediately if he were not already married.
And this was in a reply when the girl asked him how beautiful she looked during an annual day event.’ Ajay shared.
‘Oh gauche! This looks like a horrible path, akin to one in
Squid Games, Rajesh quipped.
‘Very true! Recently, one of my colleagues in my old company
had to resign because of POSH, whereas the reality was it was a matter of office
romance going sour’ Sanjay added.
‘In that case, at least there was something. But there have
been incidents of false r*pe cases filed by girls for extorting money, and
Police have busted many such conspiracies.’ Ajay shared.
‘That’s known as HoneyTrap. And who better than me can
explain how dangerous that trap is?’ Sanjay became emotional.
‘We can only imagine. And until the case is solved, it’s the guy who has to suffer, not only mentally but also socially. Just
like the boy in this Kondhwa r*ape case.’ Rahul expressed.
‘Agree. Thanks to the Police, he didn’t have to suffer
for long. But I feel the root cause of this is that the new Generation wants
everything instantly. In today’s competitive world, an Engineer wants a Manager
position in 5 years and aspires to become a Director in another 5 years.’
Sanjay explained.
‘And particularly, the ambitious girls want to feature on Shark Tank India like Namita Thapar, ASAP. And they are ready to go to any extent for that coveted job
title or promotion. ‘ Ajay expressed.
‘And if the plan fails, then there is a blame game where laws
like POSH come into play.’ Raj opined.
‘I remember an office conversation, where if a senior lady
calls her male subordinate as ‘baby’ it can be passed off as affection, but vice
versa can be construed as condescending or even insulting or undermining one’s competency’, Sanjay shared.
‘Maybe that’s why my friend Veeru has joined that 'MenToo' movement.’ Ajay high-fived Rajesh and called for the bill.
‘But I think this is a serious issue. And such incidents
create problems for the genuine victims, as people now doubt if the victim is genuine
or fake, just like the Kondhwa girl whose plan failed due to the Police’s sound
investigation.’ Sanjay concluded.
‘I agree. We should promote a culture where justice is based
on facts, not assumptions. Only then can we support real victims and prevent
misuse of the system.' Rajesh nodded as everyone rose from their seats to settle
the bill.
